Norm was born in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania and
graduated from the Wharton School of Business with a degree in Economics.
Norm then went into the family business, E. Allen Reeves, Inc. The company
was started by his father in 1918 and is still building churches, hospitals
and doing major renovation projects. Norm estimates that they have either
built or done major renovations for over 300 churches and synagogues. Norm’s life is a testament to his faith and to a life long commitment to serving others. He continues to lengthen his 65 years of perfect attendance at the Rotary Club where he is still active. This past Christmas, he was out in front of Harris Teeter, as he is every Christmas, ringing the bell for Rotary and their efforts to support the Salvation Army. While in Rotary, he attended 19 International conventions and involved with many youth programs. Norman is also a life long Presbyterian. He has been a church Trustee, a Sunday School Teacher for 17 years and a Sunday School Superintendent. He also helped start a non-denominational Praise Service which met in people’s homes and grew to be a church. He has also served to the Council of the Men of the Church for 16 years. Doug Fletcher has challenged every member of First Presbyterian Church to be in some form ministry regardless of age or circumstance. Dr. Fletcher calls Norman Reeves an inspiration to us all in that regard and says of Norm: “His is a life that continues to be filled with faith, love, laughter and service to others”. Please join us in celebrating with Norm his Man of the Year award.
